A Selection of Wentworth Group Articles and Papers

 

The Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists have released a Statement on the 2011 Draft Murray-Darling Basin Plan in response to the release of the Draft Plan on November 28, 2011. The statement is available here.

Peter Cosier prepared a paper for the UNCEEA Expert meeting on Ecosystem Accounts in London, 5-7 December 2011, "Accounting for the Condition of Environmental Assets".

Professor John Williams, Adjunct Professor in Public Policy and Environmental Management at the Crawford School of the Australian National University, presented the following paper at the NSW Coastal Conference at Tweed Heads, NSW, in November 2011 "Coastal Catchment Management - The future of CAPs in NSW"

Professor Bruce Thom, President of the Australian Coastal Society, gave a key note address at the 2010 Coast to Coast Conference in Adelaide "National Coastal Reform--2010 and beyond

Peter Cosier presented on the 10th of November at a NRM Conference in Sydney "Establishing a common environmental currency to build environmental accounts".

A paper recently presented in Chile to the London Group on Environmental Accounting, "A common currency for building environmental (ecosystem) accounts" described the common currency that can be used to build regional environmental accounts in Australia and inform the international standard for national environmental accounting.

Bruce Thom joined a delegation from the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering to a workshop on “Impacts of Climate Change on Future Urban Societies” held in Shanghai, China, 3-4 Auigust, 2010. The workshop was part of Australia China Science and Technology Week hosted by the Australian Pavilion at China World Expo 2010. He presented a paper entitled “Assessing Regional Sustainability and Land Use Change”.
